Speak out.

Mother Teresa holding a malnurished dieing baby

This morning I was reading Proverbs, I've decided I am going to read one chapter a day until I am done, and I am starting from the back to the front.

So Naturally today I read Proverbs 31. I expected to read what a good women is... I guess I haven't really sat and read every verse in the chapter, because the first part of the chapter is about the poor, and drinking (It's actually quite an interesting view on drinking, you should look it up, somthng aout if ur poor and hopless DRINK....)
Anyway, in proverbs 31:8-9 I read the following.
"Open you mouth for the mute, for the rights of all the unfortunate. open your mouth, judge righteously, and defend the rights of the afflicted and needy."

Next in Proverbs 31:20 it says about the amazing women... " She extends her hand to the poor, and she stretches out her hands to the poor."
God has been speaking to me so much in the past two weeks, which is very amazing and beautiful, because after the miscarriage I have felt very distant (probably because I did distance my self from Him.)

I am called to speak out, and stand up, to reach out, (I can just picture that, both hands reaching out to help some one like this little child from Hattie)

God help me, and forgive me for all the times I haven't.

I also, of late, have been impressed by how much we as a society, we as a family, and I as a person, have become so wrapped up in the "stuff" of life that we limit our ability to reach out to the poor - whether they are in another country or in the same house - We (I) need to stop holding on so tightly to the things that have no eternal value so that we (I) can minister to those around us. I'm not necessarily talking $$$ here, (although that could be part of it), I am talking TIME, LOVE INVESTMENT, SINCERE PRAYER, a letting go of the things we think are so important. We need to do this so that we can encourage, lift up, physically help, pray for, and financially support the poor - whether they are poor financially, poor spiritually, poor physically, or poor emotionally. This is what God has been stirring in my heart. Thanks for putting a scripture to it. (One of many scriptures on the subject)

That is a great challenge. I too have felt the Lord draw me to the poor and marginalized. I was so impacted by the two photos that you posted, they are very powerful. I have been thinking a lot about a book called the "Heavenly Man" lately. It is the powerful testimony of Brother Yun. Anyways, how this ties into your post is that he had a revelation of eternity that I long for. If I truly do believe God's word, then material things take back seat to the real thing; the real thing being what is important to God. I am sorry to hear about your miscarrage. I don't know what more to say on that. I am glad that Shane Wright gave my your guys blog though. I hope that you are enjoying Montana. God Bless...

Hey Kathryn,
That was one of the verses in a list of verses we were given to look at last week. It was the scripture that most stuck out to me. I loved also finding it here on your page and how the scripture is touching your heart. Thinking of you today darling.
Love you!

I just read, Mark 10:44 - 45 " Anyone who wishes to be first, let him be a servant to all. 45 For the Son of Man also did not come to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life as salvation for the sake of many.

Karthryn, God wants everyone and I mean everyone ministering to the the poor, the hurt, the sick, the imprisoned. Anyone who does not fulfil the Will of God in against God on this issue. What is happening in our world is ugly beyond belief. Billions of people starving to death while we fight over what video game to play. God forgive us for chasing after the world and the things of this world. Go and give all you have to the poor and follow Jesus, this is what we are to do. If we all did that, by faith the corporate world powers would loose their consumers and be forced to stop taking advantange of human in despair. God forgive us for the way we consume to the destruction of our planet, the death of children of God thru labours sweat shops. God forgive us for turning our eyes away from the hurting and dying and watching sports to numb our concious.

Kathryn, you let the Holy Spirit empower your heart with manifold power of our Eternal God and rise up against the forces of this world who keep the poor, poor and hungry. Bring them your faith by works. Don't bring them only your words. Bring them your works with your words. Do miracles by God power. Speak to the mountain and tell it to move. Be not afraid but lift up your eyes from where your help comes from. He has call us gods, joint heirs with Christ destine to do greater miracles than he did. For He did so many miracles that the volumes of the records would fill a library. So the more Kathryn, you are called to reach out to the poor and see them rise from their death, rise from their despair, rise from their hatered and fear. Walk not as the world does putting your confidence in money and power and influence. Walk as Jesus did according to will of His Father.
